As of the end of March 2024, the total number of China-EU trains has exceeded 87,000, reaching 222 cities in 25 countries in Europe.
The person in charge of freight transportation department of China Railway Group said that the scope of China-Europe liner train has been expanding and the volume of transportation has continued to grow strongly, which highlights China's stable and improving foreign trade trend. The construction of channels has been continuously strengthened. Transportation tests were carried out for China-EU liner trains from Xi'an, Chongqing and Yiwu to Georgia's Poti and Turkey's Istanbul South Passage, and a total of 6 China-EU liner trains were operated via the South Passage, representing a year-on-year increase of 200%. Newly opened China-Europe liner routes from Harbin to Tilburg in the Netherlands, from Shijiazhuang to Belgrade in Serbia, and from Qingdao to Moscow in Russia, boosting economic and trade exchanges between various places and European countries.
Transportation capacity has been gradually expanded. Optimizing the transportation organization of China-European liner trains, guiding and encouraging full-format transportation, strengthening the monitoring and control of the entire operation, and improving the transportation efficiency of China-European liner trains. Strengthening the transportation organization at ports, strengthening communication and coordination with customs, border inspection and other departments, actively promoting the railroad rapid clearance mode, coordinating with overseas railroad enterprises to increase the efforts of receiving and loading, enhancing the transportation capacity and customs clearance facilitation level at ports, and increasing the transportation capacity of the West (Alashankou, Khorgos), Middle (Erlian) and East passages (Manchuria, Suifenhe, Tongjiang North) by 8%, 14% and 8% year-on-year, respectively.
Service quality continued to improve. Stable operation of full schedule China-European Union liner between Xi'an and Duisburg of Germany, and between Chengdu and Lodz of Poland, with the transportation time substantially compressed compared with that of ordinary liner, and a cumulative total of 65 liner in the first quarter, which is favored by customers.
